The Great Wave off Kanagawa, also known as The Great Wave, is Hokusai's most famous work from the "Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji" woodblock print series, and many of his originals are exhibited in various Western museums and collections.
The image depicts a rogue wave endangering three boats off the coast of Kanagawa with Mount Fuji in the background. Indigo blue (Prussian blue), so recognizable in Hokusai's landscapes, was used as the base for these socks, honoring the world's most recognizable Japanese artwork.
